but my eyes are on you."  II Chronicles 20:12b  That's me right now.........I don't know what to do........I've done everything I know........but it's not good enough.  It's not working.   It's not how I thought it would come out.  I've listened, I've obeyed, I've followed His voice..........but now I'm at the end.  I'm stumped.  I don't know where to go from here.  And when I took all that to the Lord........He gave me this verse in II Chronicles.   It's not just me.  It's happened to others.  It happened to King Jehoshaphat.  When a vast army was coming to attack Judah, King Jehoshaphat did not know what to do.  But then he did the right thing.......he cried out to God and said "I do not know what to do.......but my eyes are on you."  As I cried out to God and read this verse I knew deep in my heart that yes, my eyes are on my Lord.  They can't be anywhere else.......there's no where else to turn.......nothing else that I can depend on.....no where else to lay my pain and disappointment but at the foot of the cross.

And then God took me further......He gave me this verse, "...This is what the Lord says to you:  'Do not be afraid or discouraged because......the battle belongs to the Lord.'" II Chronicles 20:15b  And oh, how I want to be afraid and discouraged.  Satan wants me to be afraid and discouraged.  But what good would that do the situation, or me for that matter?  How can I keep going for the Kingdom if I give in to my fear and discouragement?  So I will embrace this verse.  I will refuse to be afraid or discouraged and I will embrace the FACT that "the battle belongs to the Lord".  I love that word, FACT.  It is a FACT.......not a probability or a possibility, but a FACT!  And the FACT is, that "THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD!"   I look at that statement over and over and over.  "THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD!"  It's not up to me anymore.  I've done all that God has called me to do and now He is telling me........"The battle is mine, Sherry.  I'll take care of it.  Just keep your eyes on me and let me take it.  I'm big enough.  I can handle it."  Oh, thank you, God!  Peace!  Joy!  Faith!  Trust!  I know you can handle it........I know you're big enough.......you've proven yourself to me over and over and over again.

God took care of King Jehoshaphat's battle.  The army that was charging to defeat his kingdom turned against each other and when they were done, none had survived.  The men of Judah did not have to fight the battle, God did as he had promised......He fought it for them.  II Chronicles 20:22-24  I know that God will do as He has promised for me, He will fight the battle.......all I have to do is keep my eyes on Him.  To God Be The Glory!
